Fantastic response yet again with the nominations 2020. We have to call out the International Award For Excellence & Achievement and the Environmental Excellence Award both enjoying record-breaking participation internationally, Looking at the list of nominees, we acknowledge the excellent response from East Africa, namely South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya. The introduction by of the Environmental Excellence Award was timely and credit to our CEO Junior Sheikh for Bringing The award On Board.

Once all the nominations have been verified and categorised, voting will open and always MTM Awards voting are online and FREE.

Why were the MTM Awards created?

The MTM Awards were created in 2011 and launched in 2012. Our founder saw the need to recognise and honour the South Asian communities in the South West after noticing the local awards in the city of Bristol did not include a single Black Minority Ethnic business, organisation or person in the awards they held at a local hotel annually.

The MTM South Asian Awards were born on December 1st 2012 with a record number of nominees vying for 21 awards and 11 Special Recognitions spread over 5 categories.

The attendance was excellent with the then newly 1st  elected Mayor of Bristol, George Ferguson as chief guest. The first award of the night World Foods Mini-Markets Award was won by Bristol Sweetmart and presented by the three-time Lord Mayor of Bristol Cllr. Peter Abraham who to date has featured in every glittering gala award evening since.

Why were the MTM International Award For Excellence & Achievement created?

This category was created in 2016 to give organisations in deprived countries, a voice, a platform and opportunity to share their struggle struggles and achievements to help communities in their countries. We’ve had great participation since from across the world with nominees from Goa, India, Karachi, Pakistan, North Africa, Somalia and the East African countries.
