Our Chosen Projects!
PERIOD POVERTY ACTION PROJECTS BY MTM
Join us in the fight against period poverty!
Period Poverty Action Projects by MTM, supported by the Huris Foundation in Kenya, is making a significant impact on the lives of girls and women in the Pate Islands of Lamu, Kenya.
In these beautiful but underserved communities, families often face the difficult choice between putting food on the table and buying sanitary pads for their girls. Our initiative, born in the UK in July 2021, is dedicated to creating awareness, educating, and providing essential menstrual hygiene support.
We’ve partnered with the Huris Foundation, a local organisation whose project-director Maryam Abubakar is passionate about helping those in need in Lamu County.Together, we’re reaching out to schools in engaging with girls to discuss vital topics like puberty, hygiene, and gender-based violence.
Join us in building a brighter future where every individual can embrace their period with pride and confidence. Your continued support is highly appreciated.

CUT - A - THON 2021 BY MTM
Our efforts began with the ground-breaking CUT-A-THON, a 24-hour hair marathon, thanks to the support of generous individuals and businesses. We distributed sanitary towels and girls’ pants to schools in Lamu County, making a meaningful impact.
Through such initiatives we have delivered consignment of sanitary pads, essentials, including clothing and beddings for those in dire need. We’ve learned that these essentials sustain a healthy menstrual cycle, and the need for ongoing support is evident.
We envision creating awareness at all levels to continue educating and supporting girls in the long run. Sustainability is at the core of our mission, as we explore environmentally friendly solutions for menstrual hygiene.
By partnering with the Huris Foundation, we believe we can make a significant difference, not only on Lamu Island but in communities beyond. Together, we can address menstrual hygiene challenges in this remote region.
Period poverty is a global issue, and we’re committed to breaking down barriers and tackling the stigma around menstruation. We welcome your support, whether through donations of sanitary products and girls’ underwear, sponsorship for our initiatives, or participation in our upcoming events.
Join us in building a brighter future where every individual can embrace their period with pride and confidence. Your continued support is highly appreciated.
